Kate Norton

Business Manager

Kate-Norton

Kate finished school with not knowing quite which direction she would travel however after completing her BSc in Early Childhood Studies at Bristol University she decided that working in the world of hospitality was the path to follow.

After graduating she started working at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London. She worked there for 8 years starting as a Food and Beverage Coordinator and ending as an Events Manager. Her work involved working on a variety of events ranging from small meetings of 8 people to weddings with 200 guests. Although the brides were usually the most demanding of customers this is what she enjoyed the most; building the relationships with them and being part of their big day which although it comes with its challenges, was overall very rewarding.

Life moved on and after getting married to Tim in 2012, her daughter Lottie was born in 2014. It was time to leave the Mandarin Oriental and she started working with Planned2Perfection, a production company based near her house in London. Planned2Perfection worked with a variety of clients and 5* hotels in London and surrounding areas. Her favourite event was working with a client on his wife’s surprise 40th Birthday Party. The husband wanted the full works and went to town on the production which made for a fabulous event.

When daughter number 2, Isabel came along in 2017, Tim and Kate decided the time was right to move out of London and to the countryside. There's more space for the girls to grow up and be closer to Kate’s family in Oxfordshire. This proved to be the right timing as it was only a month after Kate had moved that Karen was looking for a new member of the Oxford Creativity team. So Kate joined the team!
