React like a Genius - Learn how with Oxford TRIZTM

Genius behaviour, if not innate, can be learned and becomes instinctive as our
TRIZ competence grows. Important TRIZ habits include avoiding excess and
waste, trimming back unnecessary use of anything/everything including TIME.
When I follow the 6 simple TRIZ Trimming rules they guide me to uncharacteristic
efficiency especially online. One big time saver is NEVER to give feedback (well
hardly ever). The constant feedback requests are all deleted, instinctively and un-
hesitantly which saves me much time and thought, both needed for better things.

Another instinctive TRIZ reaction is to embrace ambiguity, and never reject good
ideas because of their problems. All TRIZ people know they can solve all
contradictions with the TRIZ 40 Principles, which uniquely help us quickly
eliminate the downsides of good answers. One of the TRIZ myths held by the
wider world is that TRIZ = the contradiction toolkit – whereas those with true
TRIZ competence hardly ever refer to it as uncovering and resolving conflicts
becomes second nature – learned genius behaviour. Fast learning of Oxford TRIZ
has been honed over 25 years to ensure that it makes the best of both your time
or brain power. We maximise the different benefits of online versus face to face
(f2f) TRIZ learning to suit your time and cost budgets. You can begin your TRIZ
journey online in about 12 hours with the May course on Fundamental Problem
Solving. Or experience a full immersive, energy packed 4 days at the Said
Business School at our Technical TRIZ workshop in July.

Altshuller solutions SLIDE 100-1

What is TRIZ?

TRIZ began in 1946 in a patent office in Baku, Azerbaijan where Jewish, Soviet Dissident, Inventor, Engineer, and Scientist Genrich Altshuller discovered clear patterns in the way that Engineers and Scientists had solved the most difficult problems.

From this discovery Altshuller was able to uncover, log and share the best systematic approaches to understanding and solving problems. He found that if you strip away the detail, the cleverest, most inventive patents reveal a small number of fundamental solutions - about 100. Using these solutions TRIZ helps us recognise and access relevant answers so we can make the best use of the world’s collective knowledge.

Root Cause Analysis & Other Toolkits

Root Cause Toolkits are important in many industries for quality, reliability issues, for locating unexpected or mysterious variations or to explain rogue problems. RCA without TRIZ generally tracks causes, or predicts glitches and failures but does not solve problems – that is left to team wisdom, experience plus brainstorming will suffice. Sign-up to this webinar to learn how Oxford TRIZ takes us beyond mere problem uncovering to systematically locating the best answers.
