Oxford TRIZ June News: In-person Training Coming Soon

Despite the huge success of TRIZ online we are so excited to get back in the "classroom" and we look forward to working with you in Oxford at our face to face workshops …

When: From October (if all goes well)

Where: At the stunning Egrove Park site of the Oxford Said Business School

Why: To resume our unique Oxford TRIZ highly interactive, international, intensive training, interspersed with wonderful meals, social and cultural experiences, and a chance to make new friends as we learn together. We invite both TRIZ novices and all our online alumni to come to Oxford to try TRIZ in teams and learn how to tackle your most challenging problems together.

Once it is officially safe we hope you will come and join us in Oxford for in-person training to further hone your problem solving skills. These Oxford TRIZ workshops are now available to book for  October and November 2021 - carry on reading for more information.

When applying your new TRIZ skills don't forget to make the most of our resources on our website especially the Effects database and our many TRIZ case studies – read on for one from BAE Systems on applying TRIZ to revolutionise Submarine Design. I hope you enjoy our cartoon of the month – helping you explain to others that all systematic toolkits help us on our journey– but that TRIZ takes us much further to our ultimate destination to the strongest solutions.

How to Deal Efficiently with Anything - Even Annoying Partners & Colleagues!

When I remarked to my husband that the whole Oxford Creativity team were working very hard, his (extremely annoying!) response was "work smart not hard". Luckily, for both of us, over the last 20 years I have learnt to use TRIZ logic to subdue distracting, emotional annoyances and actually understand and like people better!

Read my latest article to learn how I use TRIZ to deal with anything efficiently.

    Cartoon of the Month

June's Cartoon of the Month depicts how I think of problem solving techniques such as 'SWAT, SCAMPER, FISHBONE. PEST, Thinking Quick & Slow and Diverge/Converge’. Although these are valuable and useful they are simply small lumps of logic in the TRIZ foothills - in fact you learn most of them ‘in passing’ as you learn TRIZ.
